Clint Bowyer No. 15 Maxwell House Toyota Texas II Race Preview

I Want To Be A Cowboy

CORNELIUS, N.C. —  Kid Rock famously sang about wanting to be a cowboy. And while Halloween has passed, the 43 drivers participating in this weekend’s race at Texas Motor Speedway certainly wouldn’t mind dressing up like one,

That’s because the winner of Sunday’s race receives a custom-made cowboy hat and six-shooters in victory lane.

Michael Waltrip Racing driver Clint Bowyer certainly has a shot to pull off the look. The driver of the Maxwell House Toyota has some “giddy up” at the 1.5-mile track. In 19 appearances, half of his finishes have been top 10s. He recorded a runner-up performance in 2011 and has two more top-five finishes to go with that near victory.

Bowyer may not have dressed up for Halloween but if he manages to pull off the win on Sunday, he will have no problem dressing up as a cowboy.

On Racing at Texas:

“Texas is a big, fun track. There’s a lot that happens and usually does with the high banks and fast speeds. I love Texas, not just the race track but the area in general. There’s so much to do, lots of good restaurants. And you can always pick up a new pair of cowboy boots. Just a neat track and neat area. Looking forward to heading out there this weekend.”
