Last Time at Phoenix

Greg Biffle started the 312-lap race at Phoenix International Raceway from the 19th position in his No. 16 Ford Fusion.  Biffle advance all the way to 13th position before a loose wheel late in the race put him one lap down.  In the closing laps, Biffle was the “lucky dog” recipient and earned a 27th-place lead lap finish.

Biffle on Phoenix:

“I love going out to Phoenix, it’s a fun and challenging place to race.  It’s hard to find a balance between the two ends because the corners are so different.  Turn one is really like a tight short track, where turns three and four are almost like a 1.5-mile track.  The radius of the corner tightens up on exit.”

Puccia on Phoenix:

“I love going to Phoenix. We had a top-five run at Loudon, and Phoenix has a lot of similarities.  Track position is really important at Phoenix so qualifying on Friday is going to be huge.  The way Phoenix has gone with the new surface it hasn’t been too abrasive with tires over the last few years since they’ve resurfaced it and it’s allowed us to do a lot of different pit strategies.  You will see a lot of two tires and four tires stops on Sunday.”
