TOYOTA QUOTES

DANIEL SUAREZ, No. 19 ARRIS Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Finishing Position: 8th
How does it feel to get a top-10 finish at Daytona?
“It feels good for sure. To finish one of these races, it was a positive day for our No. 19 ARRIS Camry. We had some good speed. I feel like we need to keep learning and earning respect because here in this kind of racing we need more friends. I feel like we did a decent job and let’s move on to the next one.”

Did you feel you could not pull out and make a move with no teammates near you in the closing laps?
“Honestly, I felt like if I would have pulled out to make a move, I don’t think the Cup drivers would have pulled out and followed me. They wanted to do it by themselves. We wanted to finish in the right way, but sometimes you have to take chances and I just didn’t feel like it was the right time to make the movements at that point.”

Does this give you a positive outlook moving into the next few race weekends?
“It feels good. We have to keep working with this team trying to get better and move on to the next one.”
