AJ ALLMENDINGER APPEARS AT FRY’S IN GOODYEAR THIS THURSDAY

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (March 8, 2016) – – Race weekend is around the corner and AJ Allmendinger’s first order of business is visiting Fry’s to sign autographs, take photos and participate in activities with NASCAR fans before racing his No. 47 Fry’s/SCOTT Products Chevrolet SS at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) Sunday afternoon. Allmendinger’s appearance takes place Thursday (3/10) from 4:30 PM to 6 PM at the Fry’s located at 16380 W Yuma Rd, Goodyear, Ariz.

“We are excited to once again be hosting AJ at our store at Yuma and Sarival,” store manager Penny King said. “His visit is a highlight of our year and our customers love how he interacts with them! We have many fun events planned for him and look forward to the event.”

“I had a lot of fun catching up with fans at Fry’s last year and I’m looking forward to doing it again,” Allmendinger said. “I hear it’s going to be an action-packed event. I know we will have a great time. Stop by to see me if you are in the area and make sure you stock up on all of your tailgating supplies during the visit. Tis the season to get out and grill and Fry’s has everything you need.”

After meeting fans at Fry’s, Allmendinger transitions from the store to the track looking to add to his two top-10 finishes on Sunday at the one-mile flat oval where he grabbed his career-first pole award (4/9/10).

“I’ve always enjoyed racing at Phoenix International Raceway and it’s been a good track for me,” said Allmendinger, whose best finish at PIR is sixth (11/13/11). “I really enjoyed it after they did the repave. It took a little bit to get used to. It’s a tough place because you’ve really got to make sure your car turns well there especially in Turns 3 and 4 because it’s really flat. But, even in Turns 1 and 2 it is a fine line between making sure you’re not too free in, but it still turns and that’s what we all fight when we get there. I’ve always enjoyed the place and we’ve had pretty solid runs there over the past couple of years there. I think we are going to be really good there.”

Live coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event on Sunday, March 13th airs on FOX/MRN/SIRIUSXM.
