CHASTAIN RETURNS TO FONTANA

FONTANA, Calif. – Ross Chastain hopes to improve on last year’s performance in Saturday’s TreatMyClot.com 300 at Auto Club Speedway.

In his first run last year at the two-mile track, Chastain rolled home 17th.

“A pretty good run for a first time there last year, but we want more this time,” Chastain said. “It’s a tough track – fast and wearing out, but I like that. I think all drivers like a track that presents a good challenge.”

Chastain, driving the Shakey’s Pizza/K1 Speed Chevrolet, is 16th in Xfinity points after finishing 24th last week at Phoenix.

Practice Friday is scheduled at 3 p.m. (ET) and 5:30 p.m. Qualifying is set for 12:15 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 4 p.m.
