PREECE 23rd IN FIRST RICHMOND RUN

RICHMOND, Va. – Ryan Preece finished 23rd in Saturday’s ToyotaCare 250 Xfinity Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

The race was Preece’s first major-series run at the three-quarter-mile track, although he ran in a K&N Pro Series East race at RIR last year.

“We got kind of locked into mid-pack there early and stayed around that position,” Preece said. “We’ll shoot for a better finish here next time. Learned a lot and got in a bunch of laps, so all-around it’s a good day.”

Preece, driving the G&K Services Chevrolet, is 17th in Xfinity Series driver points.

Sprint Cup driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. won Saturday’s race. Daniel Suarez kept the point lead.

Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama hosts the next Xfinity Series race April 30.
