Bobby Labonte No.32 Rimrock Devlin Ford Race Advance

47th Annual Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway

News and Notes:

Heading into this weekend’s event, the No.32 Rimrock Devlin Go Fas Racing(GFR) team will travel to the “The Yellowhammer State” with 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Champion Bobby Labonte for the 47th annual Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, in Lincoln, AL.

Sunday’s Geico 500 will mark Labonte’s 45th career start at the legendary 2.66-mile track, and his 727th career NSCS start. The Corpus Christi, TX native has one win at Talladega, which came after starting from the pole and leading 60 laps in the 1998 spring race. Labonte has earned six top-five finishes, 13 top-ten finishes, one pole and has led 70 laps during his career at Talladega.

Labonte’s most recent success at Talladega came in the NASCAR Xfinity series back in 2007 where he visited victory lane driving for Kevin Harvick. Calling the shots for that race was Wally Rogers, who is Labonte’s crew chief for this weekend’s race.

Bobby Labonte on Talladega:
“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No.32 Rimrock Devlin Ford Fusion at Talladega this weekend. We showed some really good speed with the same car at Daytona in February. Wally and the guys back at the shop have made lots of improvements to this car, and I foresee that the hard work should make us much faster this weekend. I can’t thank Wally and Micah at Rimrock enough for coming on board with us this weekend, and we’re optimistic we can give them a great finish.”

Chassis Info:
Crew Chief Wally Rogers will be bringing chassis GFR-830 to serve as the primary car. This chassis was last ran at Daytona in February. Chassis GFR-689 will serve as the backup car.
