ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Dover

Trevor Bayne will make his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Dover this weekend.

In seven career starts in the XFINTIY Series at “The Monster Mile,” Bayne has recorded two top-five finishes, six top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 9.3. His best finish of second came in the May 2014 event at the one-mile oval.

Matt Puccia at Dover

Puccia will be atop the box for his 10th NSCS event at Dover on Sunday afternoon.  In nine previous races, Puccia recorded a best finish of ninth with Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle in the Oct. 2013 event.

Recapping Kansas

Bayne sustained a flat left-rear tire following contact that ultimately led to a 25th-place finish in the NSCS event at Kansas Speedway.

Chase Standings

Bayne now trails the 16th and final position in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship standings by 11 points.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Dover:

“Dover is a really fun track to race on. It’s fast and high-banked. I always liked racing here in the XFINITY Series and we had some good success. I’m confident that (crew chief) Matt (Puccia) will give me a great AdvoCare Ford this weekend that will let us run up front and contend for a victory.”
