SMITHLEY READY FOR LOUDON

LOUDON, N.H. – Garrett Smithley will be driving competitively at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the first time in Saturday’s AutoLotto 200 Xfinity Series race.

But Smithley does have laps on the flat, one-mile track. He has worked with the Richard Petty Driving Experience at NHMS. Plus, he’ll have the advice of teammate Ryan Preece, a veteran of Loudon, to fall back on.

“New Hampshire is a wild card for us in my mind,” Smithley said. “We have been slowly improving on our short-track program since Phoenix. I think we are definitely headed in the right direction.

“I have been to New Hampshire Motor Speedway a couple times with the Petty Experience, so I should be pretty comfortable. I’m definitely going to lean on Ryan since this is a home race for him.”

Smithley is 17th in Xfinity driver points entering the race.

Practice is scheduled at NHMS at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 11:15 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 4 p.m.
