Charlotte Based Maaco to Have Major Presence on Truex’s No. 78 Toyota in Bank of America 500

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2016) — Martin Truex Jr.’s Furniture Row Racing Toyota will include a new sponsor for Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway – Maaco – North America’s Bodyshop.

Maaco, a Charlotte-based company and North America’s No. 1 auto paint and collision repair franchise, will be showcased on the rear quarter panels of Truex’s No. 78 Camry for the opening race of Round 2 in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.

“We’re proud to partner with Martin Truex, Jr. and Furniture Row Racing for the Charlotte race,” said Jason Ryan, President of Maaco Paint and Collision, a member of the Driven Brands family. “He’s a great driver, and even more important, a great representative for the hundreds of Maaco franchisees who will be cheering him on this Saturday night. We look forward to seeing Martin and the No. 78 Furniture Row/Maaco car in Victory Lane.”

Truex, who has earned the label as the hottest driver on the NASCAR circuit by scoring two wins in the first three Chase races, returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway where he won the Memorial Day weekend Coca-Cola 600 in dominating fashion, leading 392 of 400 laps for 588 miles. The laps led set an event record and the miles led set an all-time NASCAR record.

“Anytime you can have a Charlotte-based company displayed on your race car it carries a special feeling of pride, knowing that you are being supported locally in the hub of NASCAR racing,” said Truex. “It is even more special to have Maaco, a leader in its industry, on our car at a Charlotte Motor Speedway race, which is not only their home track but also a home track for the majority of drivers competing this weekend at the historic oval.”

Joe Garone, president of Furniture Row Racing, said he welcomes Maaco to the team’s growing list of sponsors.

“From a business standpoint, when you have an industry-leading company such as Maaco supporting your team it can only serve as a resume builder while seeking additional sponsorships,” said Garone. “We are thrilled to have Maaco joining our team this weekend and look forward to giving the company a strong performance on the racetrack.”
