Brian Scott and the No. 44 Team Looking to End Season on High Note

Albertsons Companies to Adorn Hood of No. 44 Ford Fusion

With the 2016 Sprint Cup Series season winding down, Brian Scott and the No. 44 Albertsons team are looking to end the season on a high note. The team makes their second trip to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, a track familiar to Scott in both the XFINITY and Cup Series, and one where Scott has performed well in past years.

The spring Texas race was unfavorable to Scott, as the No. 44 Albertsons Ford got caught in a wreck with just under 40 laps to go in the first night race of the season. However, Texas is a track where Scott recorded one of his highest career Cup Series finishes, finishing 14th at the fall race in 2015. In 12 starts at the 1.5-mile oval in the XFINITY Series, Scott earned five Top-10 finishes and nine Top-15 finishes. Scott also has five starts in the Camping World Truck Series at Texas, finishing in the Top 15 four of those five times.

Albertsons Companies and Tom Thumb, part of the Albertsons Southern Division in North Texas, operates 57 stores in Texas, and is part of Albertsons’ 2,200+ store operation that employs approximately 265,000 people nationwide.

Fans will be able to meet Scott at the Fort Worth Albertsons on Saturday, November 5.

“The intermediate track program at Richard Petty Motorsports has been strong all season in the handling of our cars, but luck hasn’t always been on our side. We were running well at tracks like Kansas and Darlington but unfortunately got caught in wrecks that put too much damage to our Ford Fusion. At Texas, even though it’s shaped the same as 1.5-mile tracks such as Kansas and Charlotte, and somewhat similar with Atlanta as far as an old surface, it’s vastly different. We know that we can run well when we have good handling in our cars like we saw in Talladega, but it’s about being fast off of the truck, getting a good qualifying position and then moving through the field. It’s a long race at Texas, so we’re definitely going to have to be patient and make sure to keep our No. 44 Albertsons Ford out of any carnage. I’ve found some success from all three series at Texas, and I’m looking forward to being back and hopefully finishing at the front after 500 miles.”
