Statement from Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup on Jimmie Johnson’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (November 20, 2016) – Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup offered the following statement at the conclusion of Sunday’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday evening:

“On behalf of everyone at Watkins Glen International, congratulations to Jimmie Johnson on capturing his historic seventh NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship today at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In tying Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Jimmie has, deservedly, further cemented himself as one of the great champions of our sport. We look forward to welcoming Jimmie and the entire No. 48 team back to The Glen in August 2017.”
