Wallace Finishes Ninth at Kentucky

SPARTA, Ky. (Sept. 27, 2015) – Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 6 Bleacher Report Ford Mustang, finished ninth on Saturday night in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Kentucky Speedway.

“It was a tough run, but we’re happy to finish the night with a top ten,” said Wallace after the race. “The car was a little free for our long runs, but (crew chief) Seth (Barbour) had the guys make good adjustments to the car all race. We’re ready to move on to Dover next week.”

Wallace took the green flag for the 200-lap event from the 14th position after advancing to the second round of knockout qualifying on Saturday afternoon. Wallace moved through the field quickly, making his way to the ninth position by lap 15. A caution on lap 26 gave the No. 6 Bleacher Report team an opportunity to gain track position, taking two tires and fuel with no adjustments. Wallace restarted in the second position on lap 32 and briefly led the race before cars with four fresh tires shuffled him back to the fifth position.

Despite a loose-handling car, Wallace maintained his top-10 position throughout the race. In the closing stages, Wallace shuffled positions on three restarts in the final 15 laps, but ultimately brought his No. 6 Bleacher Report Ford Mustang across the finish in ninth.

Next up for the NASCAR XFINITY Series is Dover International Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 3.
