Forrister Doubles up with Tilted Kilt at Phoenix

MOORESVILLE, NC – November 12, 2015   NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Korbin Forrister will run double-duty this weekend at the Phoenix International Raceway running both the NCWTS Lucas Oil 150 on Friday night and the NASCAR XFINITY Series DAV 200 on Saturday afternoon in the hometown of sponsor Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery.

Besides running the No. 08 Silverado for SS Green Light Racing on Friday, Forrister will also pilot the No. 15 Camaro for Rick Ware Racing on Saturday making the second XFINITY Series start of his career. “It’s going to be a big week,” the Georgia native said. “It’s going to be a challenge to keep up going between the two garages, but I think it will be fun and the extra seat time should help me in both races.”

Friday’s Lucas Oil 150 will be Forrister’s second NCWTS start at PIR, he finished 15th last fall behind the wheel of the SS Green Light Racing Silverado. “I think Phoenix is a really fun track. There isn’t any other track like it with the dogleg on the backstretch. It’s different because you can run different lines and you can go real low through the backstretch, actually below the yellow line.”

Last year’s Lucas Oil 150 was cut short due to a power outage at the track forcing NASCAR to call the race after 126 of the scheduled 150 laps. “Hopefully the power stay’s on and we can run the full length this year,” joked Forrister. “Right now I just need to avoid the bad luck, run all the laps and continue to improve. I think this week we’ll show that the more racing the better. Maybe some day I can even pull the triple and run all three series.”

Fans can join Korbin and the Tilted Kilt XFINITY series Camaro at the Tilted Kilt Tempe for a pre-race party at 6:30 pm Thursday night. Plus the Kilt Girls will once again join Forrister at the track this weekend during pre-race activities. “Tempe is the home office for Tilted Kilt so we’re looking to have a lot of fun this weekend,” concluded Forrister.

The Lucas Oil 150 is the 357th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team, a streak that dates back to 2001. There are 34 trucks on the entry list for the 150-lap, 150-mile race, which will prelude both the Sprint Cup, and Xfinity races this weekend.

Practice for the Lucas Oil 150 will be Thursday, November 12th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:55 p.m. Qualifying will be Friday, November 13th at 10:45 a.m. and the green flag will fly on the Lucas Oil 150 at 6:30 p.m. Mountain time. Both qualifying and the Lucas Oil 150 will be shown live on FOX Sports 1 and will also be broadcast via the Motor Racing Network and on SIRIUSXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
