SMITHLEY SET FOR CHICAGO

JOLIET, Ill. – Garrett Smithley rolls into ChiTown for the first time this weekend.

Smithley, continuing his rookie season in the Xfinity Series, will race for the first time at Chicagoland Speedway in the Chicago suburbs. He will hope to bounce back from a 31st-place run last week at Richmond, Va.

“I’m ready to get there and get going,” Smithley said. “I like the mile-and-half tracks. They’re fast, and, with a good car, you can make up spots in a hurry. We’ll give it our best run this weekend.”

The Chicago race is the final event of the Xfinity regular season.

A pair of practice sessions will open the Xfinity weekend – at 12:30 p.m. (ET) and 3 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 11:45 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 3 p.m.
