PREECE BACK AT DOVER

DOVER, Del. – Ryan Preece’s career-first race at Dover International Speedway – in May – ended far too soon.

A broken piston sidelined Preece’s Chevrolet on the race’s first lap. He finished 39th and didn’t get a real chance to test the track.

Preece hopes to right that wrong Saturday as he drives the Meding’s Seafood/Iron Source Chevrolet in the Drive Sober 200 at Dover.

“The first Dover race was one of our roughest weekends of the year,” Preece said. “It’s tough to have to park that soon. Hopefully, we’ll be right on target Saturday and get a good finish. We’re thrilled to have the Meding’s Seafood and Iron Source folks along for the ride with us again.”

Preece is 17th in XFINITYy points entering the 200.

The race is the second in the newXFINITY Chase playoffs.

Dover practice sessions are scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 11:45 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 3 p.m.
