No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet News and Notes

Informações Chassis (This Week’s Silverado)…Miguel Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Silverado team will utilize chassis TMS-213 this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is the same truck Paludo drove to his first top-10 finish of the season at Kansas Speedway in April.

São Precisos Dois (It Takes Two)…Paludo heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway for only the second time in his racing career. In his first visit to NASCAR’s “home track,” Paludo had a top-10 truck before an engine failure forced him to retire from the race early, ultimately resulting in a 35th-place finish at the 1.5-mile quad-oval.

Em Meados (In The Middle)…More indicative of Paludo’s potential this weekend is a look at his stats on intermediate (1-2 mile) tracks. Paludo has earned more top-10 finishes (six) at intermediate tracks than at any other configuration the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visits. Five of those top-10 finishes have been at earned at 1.5-mile tracks like CMS.

Pare DeDiabetes (Stop Diabetes)…Last week, Paludo, a type 1 diabetic, and his wife Patricia discovered that their eight-month old son Oliver is also one of the 366 million people worldwide living with the diabetes. In response, Paludo will be running a special “Stop Diabetes” logo on the tonneau cover of the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet this weekend in Charlotte. FactoDiabetesda Semana (Diabetes Fact of the Week)…Paludo’s home country of Brazil has the fifth-highest rate of diabetes in the world, with 12,440,000 people diagnosed as of 2011. The United States is ranked third, with over 23,721,000 living with diabetes. First on the list? China, which has over 90,000,000 cases as of 2011.

Corrida Anterior (Previous Race Recap)…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components truck posted a solid day at Kansas Speedway, running consistently fast lap times and boasting near-perfect handling for much of the SFP 250, before bringing home a 10th-place finish. The team battled back from a poorly-timed caution and restarts behind struggling competitors to earn their first top-10 of the season.

Veja e Ouça (Watch and Listen)…The N.C. Education Lottery 200 can be seen live on Friday, May 18th on SPEED.  Race coverage will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Charlotte Motor Speedway

“I can’t wait to get back to the racetrack. We had our first top-10 finish of the season in Kansas, and whenever you have a good race, you want everyone on the team to keep that confidence and momentum. I’m hoping we can get to Charlotte and build on that race and put together a few really good races in the coming weeks. I think we already have a good head start because we’re bringing the same truck we brought to Kansas, and it was a well-balanced truck that handled really well. I also really enjoy racing at the 1.5-mile tracks, those are the tracks where I consistently seem to run the best. I’m hoping that we can put all these positive things together and come out of Charlotte really happy with our result.”
