Windy City Excitement: Dakoda Armstrong will travel to Chicagoland Speedway this Saturday to make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Joliet, Illinois track. After a disappointing end to a solid run at Iowa Speedway last weekend, Armstrong and his No. 98 ThorSport Racing team are ready to pick up their momentum and come home from the American Ethanol 225 with a strong finish.

In his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Chicagoland last season, Armstrong didn’t get the finish he was hoping for, but knows that a good setup under his EverFi Tundra will give him what it takes to get the job done. The chassis the No. 98 team has prepared is their most successful and utilized Tundra, and it will also have some new logos on the hood and TV panel, as Syngenta and Mudd Advertising come on board.

“I’m happy to have Syngenta back with us this weekend. They’ve stayed on as a smaller part or our program, but I’m proud to represent them in a bigger way this weekend, especially since we’ll be close to our farm in Indiana. Syngenta has been a huge supporter of my racing career thus far and I’m excited to give them a good showing, as well as our new partners for this race, Mudd Advertising,” Armstrong said.

Both practice sessions for the NCWTS competitors will take place on Friday, from 4:30-5:50 pm and 8:10-9:00 pm CST. Qualifying will be broadcast on SPEED at 3:00 pm CST, followed by the NCWTS Setup and American Ethanol 225 broadcast beginning at 6:30 pm CST.

Welcome Back, Syngenta- Returning as an associate sponsor this weekend at Chicagoland, Syngenta will adorn the back TV panel of the No. 98 Toyota Tundra. Syngenta is the largest agribusiness company in the world, with the widest portfolio of chemicals and seeds in the industry. The company has been involved with the Armstrong family for many years, both with Dakoda’s racing career and the family farm that consists of 8,000 acres of crops. Syngenta is proud to partner with Armstrong, a fourth generation farmer, and Armstrong Farms as they utilize Syngenta products to increase productivity. For more information, visit Syngenta.com.

Hello, Mudd Advertising- Partnering with Armstrong for the first time in his career, Mudd Advertising will be displayed across the hood of the No. 98 this weekend. Mudd Advertising is one of the largest family-owned agencies in the creative marketing and audio-visual production fields for over 30 years. In addition to traditional, mobile, video and digital offerings, Mudd is driven by data integrity and strives to develop the most technologically advanced solutions possible for clients. Though they are headquartered in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mudd also has offices in Chicago and Nashville.

“We’re happy to join Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 98 team for this weekend’s race near one of our offices in Chicago,” Chris Mudd of Mudd Advertising explained. “We know this partnership will give us great exposure. We’re looking forward to a great run by Dakoda and his team on Saturday night.”

A Look Back at Iowa: Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 98 EverFi Toyota Tundra team traveled to Iowa Speedway for the American Ethanol 200 on Saturday night, one year after the rookie’s first career series start. Maintaining a top-10 running position for the majority of the evening, a three-wide tangle following a restart with less than 20 laps remaining caused right front damage and a blown tire. With no control over the steering of his EverFi Tundra, Armstrong was sent into another competitor and the turn three wall, cutting his night short in 27th place.

Chassis History: The No. 98 crew, led by crew chief Dan Stillman, has prepared chassis No. 23 for this weekend’s NCWTS competition. Armstrong has wheeled this Tundra several times this season; most recently at Kentucky Speedway where he scored a 13th place finish.

What are the characteristics of Chicagoland Speedway and what will it take to win?

“Chicago is pretty much a basic mile and a half track, but it’s gotten some character and bumps in the surface over the past few years. I’ve never had outstanding results there, but it’s not a bad track for me either. We’re just going to need to have a good setup under our Tundra from the start of the weekend to run up front.”
