Race No. 1 of 22
Brennan Newberry
No. 14 Fight for Life Chevrolet Silverado
Brennan Newberry is set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) after his impressive sixth-place finish in Saturday night’s ARCA Racing Series event at Daytona. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender will be guided by veteran crew chief Eddie Pardue, who has found success working with young drivers. NTS Motorsports is proud to continue its partnership with FightForLifeEvent.org as it will be the primary sponsor on the No. 14 NTS Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado.
Driver Highlights:
· The 2013 season will be Newberry’s first full-time NCWTS season.
· Newberry has made 10 NCWTS starts.
· Newberry has made one previous DIS start; finishing sixth in the ARCA Racing Series Lucas Oil 200 Presented by MAV TV American Real on February 16, 2013.
Driver History:
Newberry will return to the No. 14 Truck in 2013, but will be joined by four-time NCWTS champion, Ron Hornaday in the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has a successful racing resume that includes three poles and numerous top-five results in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and the ARCA Racing Series. Combined with his youthful vigor and excitement, the veteran staff at NTS Motorsports will help Newberry make a run for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in 2013.
Calling The Shots:
NTS Motorsports recently hired Eddie Pardue as crew chief of the No. 14 team. The addition of Pardue is tremendous for Newberry, as Eddie has a successful history of working with rookie drivers. Pardue brings vast experience as a race winning NASCAR Nationwide Series crew chief. As a crew chief for Roush Fenway Racing, Pardue accumulated three-career wins as a crew chief at the Nationwide Series level with drivers Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth. The season opener at DIS will mark Pardue’s first race in the NCWTS.
Chassis History:
Newberry will pilot NTS Motorsports chassis No. 7 in this weekend’s NextEra Energy Resources 250 at DIS. Built new for the 2013 season, this chassis will debut in Friday night’s 100-lap event.
Behind the Scenes of a Rookie:
As a rookie NCWTS driver Newberry has taken the initiative to involve himself with the team as much as possible before the 2013 season gets underway. By relocating to North Carolina, the young driver has fully immersed himself at the NTS Motorsports race shop and offices on a full-time basis. By working closely with the team, Newberry has established a great relationship with the NTS Motorsports staff and has picked up information that will help his progression in his first, full-time NCWTS season.
Inside the Helmet-Brennan Newberry:
“Racing at Daytona International Speedway has been a long held dream of mine. To have the opportunity to compete in the NCWTS race at Daytona in competitive equipment is a blessing that I will take full advantage of.”
“I gained great experience in my ARCA Racing Series debut at Daytona with a great sixth-place finish. The race gave the team and I the momentum and confidence we need to start the 2013 season the right way. Working with Eddie Pardue is something that I am looking forward to because we have meshed well in the off-season and he has a phenomenal record of cultivating rookies into successful drivers.”

About NTS Motorsports:
NTS Motorsports is the result of a successful merger between Joe Denette of Joe Denette Motorsports and Bob Newberry of NTS Motorsports. The new powerhouse team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) established its headquarters in Kernersville, North Carolina where a select group of the industry’s best have collaborated.
The team will field two full-time NCWTS entries under the NTS Motorsports banner with Ron Hornaday back behind the wheel of the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado and Brennan Newberry continuing in the No. 14 Chevrolet Silverado. The team will also field a third entry, the No. 24, for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran, Kevin Harvick for both Martinsville Speedway events in April and October, respectively.
Originally founded as a family racing team in Bakersfield, California by Bob Newberry, NTS Motorsports has a history of proven success in a variety of racing series. Along with the team’s flagship NCWTS shop in North Carolina, NTS Motorsports has a major presence in California where the team operates a development team in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, ARCA Racing Series, and Spears SRL South West Tour Series.
Bob Newberry has committed himself and his resources to making NTS Motorsports a winning team in NASCAR. In November, 2012, Bob Newberry and Wes Furrh jointly purchased the former Kevin Harvick, Inc. (KHI) building, boasting 70,000 square feet of shop space. The three-team powerhouse looks to continue the success in 2013 that KHI produced in the building in previous seasons with two NCWTS championships and 43 series victories.
As a young, passionate race team in NASCAR, NTS Motorsports is laying the groundwork to become one of the top teams in the industry with long term goals set firmly in the upper echelons of NASCAR’s top touring divisions.
