Hill and Team Battle The Monster for 35th Place Finish

DOVER, DE.  (June 3, 2013) – The first half of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season has been a great learning experience for Timmy Hill as he gets acclimated to the series and the FAS Lane Racing team.  The first time behind the wheel of a Sprint Cup car at some of the toughest tracks are challenges for both driver and team. This week at Dover International Speedway was another one of those tough first as the 20-year old rookie battled the track known as the “Monster Mile” on his way to a 35th-place finish for his No. 32 OXYater Ford in the running of the Fed-Ex / Autism Speaks 400.

“We struggled with the handling of our OXYwater Ford a little all weekend,” stated Hill. “Then late in the race we had to come in under green and replace a battery so we lost a few spots there.  It was a little hot out there today for everyone and thankfully we all stayed hydrated with our OXYwater.  I am proud of everyone on this FAS Lane Racing team as they battled along with me all weekend. I think I learned a lot that will help us when we return to Dover in the fall.”

Hill will be back behind the wheel of the No. 32 OXYwater Ford next week as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to the “Tricky Triangle” of Pocono Raceway – another first time track for the young rookie driver.

“We came into Dover this week with a little momentum from Charlotte and were hoping to build on that,” said FAS Lane Racing team owner Frank Stoddard.  “We collectively struggled a little as a team and that put us behind early in the race.  The battery issue hurt as well but everyone battled together and we came out of here with a clean car.  This first half of the season is building a foundation for Timmy and the team and we will be in a much better situation when we come back to these tracks for the second time.”
