Gilliland Vegas-Bound 11th in Points

Love’s Travel Stops Team Off to Good Start with Wingo at the Helm

STATESVILLE, MARCH 4, 2015 – David Gilliland, driver of the No. 38 Love’s Travel Stops Ford, comments on racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

“I like how we’ve started this season. We had a good run in Daytona and a decent day in Atlanta. It feels good to go into Las Vegas 11th in points. Donnie Wingo and I have worked well together so far and I think it’s only going to get better as we learn to work with each other more and more.

“Vegas and Atlanta get closer in similarity every year. The Vegas track goes through winters and it wears, and it’s getting rougher and rougher, through Turns 1 and 2 especially. So, I think we’ll be able to take a lot to Vegas that we learned in Atlanta.

“This will be Race No. 3 of the season with Love’s Travel Stops on board. We’re looking forward to a great year with them, with them being on our car for half the races this year. They’re such a great partner and it feels good to have their support week after week.”

JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has eight Sprint Cup career starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway … He has one top-15 finish at the 1.5-mile oval, a 14th-place finish in 2009 … Love’s Travel Stops returns as primary sponsor on the No. 38 Ford … Gilliland enters the Las Vegas race weekend 11th in the Sprint Cup Series championship standings.

. @DavidGilliland’s very first attempt to qualify for a @NASCAR national series race was at @LVMotorSpeedway in 2003 in @NASCAR_Trucks.
