Stenhouse Jr. Looks to Add Name to Roush Fenway’s Cup Success at Las Vegas

CONCORD, N.C (March 4, 2015) – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hopes Las Vegas launches his junior year in the Sprint Cup series just as it did in his junior year in the XFINITY series in 2012.  Stenhouse used the early win at Las Vegas that year to launch into a season that would see him visit victory lane on five more occasions that season.

During the 2012 Sam’s Town 300, the Olive Branch, Miss. native dominated the final 54 laps after clearing veteran Mark Martin, building a six-second cushion over second place claiming his first victory of the 2012 NASCAR XFINITY season and his first win at a mile-and-a-half track.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Vegas this weekend,” Stenhouse said. “Roush Fenway has such a rich history at Vegas. I got my first win at a mile-and-a-half track and Roush Fenway won the inaugural race at Las Vegas so it would be an honor to continue the success and give Jack another victory at Vegas.”

Roush Fenway hit the Vegas jackpot right off the bat, winning the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Las Vegas in 1998. Martin led 82 laps in the victory, leading a one-two Roush Fenway finish on a day that saw the organization place all five of its entries in the top 10.

In 74 career Cup starts at LVMS Roush Fenway has recorded 38 top-10 finishes (51.4 percent) and has had at least one car finish in the top 10 in every Cup event run at the 1.5-mile oval. Roush Fenway has earned two pole positions, seven victories, 21 top-five finishes and has led 1,257 laps.

Roush Fenway Racing is the winningest team in NASCAR history, fielding multiple teams in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series competition with drivers Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Trevor Bayne, Elliott Sadler, Ryan Reed, Chris Buescher and Bubba Wallace. Now in its 28th season, Roush Fenway is a leader in driver development, having launched the careers for many of the top drivers in the sport. Off-track, Roush Fenway is a leader in NASCAR marketing solutions, pioneering motorsport’s first team-focused TV show and producing multiple award-winning digital and experiential marketing campaigns. Roush Fenway is co-owned by Jack Roush, the winningest team owner in NASCAR history and Fenway Sports Group, parent company of Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox and English Premier League’s Liverpool F.C.
