Kyle Busch earned his second-consecutive NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) victory in Saturday afternoon’s race at ISM Raceway in Phoenix.
The win marked Busch’s 94th career-NXS win and 83rd behind the wheel of a Camry or Supra.
"ISM Raceway has always been a tricky place for me, but I think we made some positive gains here today. RCR brought another solid No. 2 Hurdl Chevrolet Camaro to the track, which helped me figure out a couple more things about this track. The balance of our Camaro was great all race long, just building tight a little bit throughout the length of a run."
AUSTIN CINDRIC, No. 22 MoneyLion Ford Mustang – YOU WON STAGE 1. HOW DOES THAT FEEL IN TERMS OF BUILDING POINTS? “For me Playoff points are huge, especially moving into the Playoffs."
JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1, met with members of the media following the final Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice session. Johnson and the No. 48 Camaro ZL1 team were the quickest among the Chevrolet’s placing seventh on the final practice speed chart. Johnson will start tomorrow’s TicketGuardian 500 from the 15th position.
JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Mustang – HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR CAR IS AFTER PRACTICE? “We made some good gains on it over the last few practices. I feel like we were a little bit off yesterday in qualifying trim – in practice and in qualifying – and I’d say the first practice today we made a little bit more progress, but still wasn’t there and got a lot closer, especially in the short run.
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin was made available to the media at ISM Raceway: DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Freight Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Tell us about the hole-in-one.
Following his Team Penske teammates’ success the last two weeks, Ryan Blaney captured the pole position on Friday afternoon for Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series TicketGuardian 500 at ISM Raceway.
RYAN BLANEY, No. 12 MoneyLion Ford Mustang – DOES IT FEEL DIFFERENT OUT THERE? “Yeah, it’s a pretty decent amount different. You can feel it. You can feel the taller spoiler, bigger splitter, you can really feel that, especially turn one and two since it’s really flat. I feel like you can get in there a little bit faster, roll a lot faster, get back to the throttle sooner."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Mustang – WHAT KIND OF RACING WILL WE SEE WITH THIS ADDED DOWNFORCE? “I guess I’m unsure right now. I think a few years back when we had the bigger spoilers and the bigger splitters on the car, I know we’re a little more than that again. I guess I think of that a little bit."
