NASCAR recognizes MIS for its environmental initiatives

When it comes to being green, Michigan International Speedway leads the way. NASCAR today recognized MIS as being an industry leader during the sport’s annual Green Summit in Chicago, site of this weekend’s start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Edwards at Chicago enters Chicago fifth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase point standings. In 26 starts, Edwards has accumulated two wins, eight top-five,13 top-10 finishes and one pole. Edwards will make his ninth Cup start at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. In his previous starts, Edwards has three top-five and three top-10 finishes. His average start is 14.6 and his average finish is 16.6.

In his previous four starts at the Illinois track, Hornaday has one top-five finish, three top-10 finishes and has an average start of 10.8 and average finish of 7.8. His worst finish in four starts is 11th in 2009.

Eric McClure Returns to Seat of No. 14 Camry

McClure Cleared to Race Chicagoland Speedway: After a four week hiatus, Eric McClure will return to the seat of his No 14 Camry for Saturday’s running of the Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. He was sidelined with acute renal failure after the Watkins Glen race weekend in early August.

This chassis last saw action at Iowa Speedway last month where Bowman finished in the seventh position. Earlier this season, Alex piloted this chassis to the top of the pylon in qualifying to earn the pole at Texas Motor Speedway.
