NASCAR Cup Series

Trevor Bayne makes his fifth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday night. In four previous starts at the 1.54-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish, a seventh-place result in this event in 2013.

Last year, the two-time NASCAR Nationwide champion earned his first career Sprint Cup pole at Atlanta.

With two races remaining before The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship begins, Marcos Ambrose and the STANLEY Racing team are focused on nothing but winning. Their next opportunity comes this weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the mile-and-a-half, high-banked oval.

Aric Almirola and the No. 43 team hope that a two-day test at Chicago will translate to speed this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. As the team looks for momentum leading into The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, a good run could help propel them through the Challenger round.

It's been six races since the last NASCAR Nationwide Series race on a mile-and-a-half track and nine races since the race at Kentucky Speedway. The Nationwide race at Kentucky is significant to Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField team because it showcased their improvement at the mile-and-a-half tracks.

Edwards qualified third in his Ford Fusion for the second week in a row. While fighting a very tight condition through nine cautions, he ran in the top-10 the majority of the 500-lap race. When the checkered flag flew, Edwards and the No. 99 Fastenal team were able to capture a solid seventh-place finish and their 10th top-10 of the season.

This is an important weekend for No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine driver Brian Vickers.

When Team Penske’s Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski swept the top two spots on Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway it marked the second 1-2 finish for Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this season. The first time it occurred was also at BMS in the spring when Roush Fenway’s Carl Edwards (1st) and Ricky Stenhouse (2nd) did it.

This Week's No. 33 Realtree/Rheem Chevrolet SS at Atlanta Motor Speedway ... Ty Dillon will pilot chassis No. 460 Sunday night in the Oral-B USA 500 for Circle Sport Racing. This was last raced earlier this season by Brian Scott at Auto Club Speedway.
