If you want to make the Chase, maybe one should win at New Hampshire. Out of 43 drivers entered and scheduled to make up the field at Loudon this Sunday, a whopping 16 of them have won at New Hampshire. They include the only four-time winner, 47-year old Jeff Burton, slated to drive the 66 Toyota of Jay Robinson.

Online precious metals dealer Provident Metals has partnered with Phil Parsons Racing to be the primary sponsor of their No. 98 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car driven by all-star Josh Wise. The agreement spans select races during the 2014 season.

For more than three decades, NASCAR and Turner Sports have partnered to tell the stories of stock car racing – longer than many of the drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series have been alive. On Sunday when the checkered flag flies at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, it will mark the conclusion of a long and prosperous partnership between NASCAR and Turner Sports.

It is rare, however, to see three generations competing against each other at any level of stock car racing. For NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Gilliland, an intriguing idea blossomed into a unique opportunity to race against both his father and son.

Justin Allgaier will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). He has three top 10s in five NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts at NHMS and has completed all scheduled laps. NHMS is the first track less than 1.5 miles in length that the NSCS has raced on since Dover International Speedway in early June.

After a first half of the season that included a number of wacky woes for Martin Truex Jr., the Furniture Row Racing driver feels the team has the capability to make a turnaround during the next 18 Sprint Cup Series races.

“I really do enjoy New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but there was a time where I disliked it because I was trying to figure it out,” Allmendinger said. “It is a tough place to get around because it is so flat and a little bit bumpy. However, in 2008 or 2009, I kind of figured out how to drive around the place and now I really enjoy racing there a lot. I feel like it is one of those types of tracks that the driver can make a difference around."

Axxess Pharma will serve as an associate sponsor for the remainder of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

SWEEP IN NEW ENGLAND: Last year, Camry drivers swept the two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Brian Vickers picked up the first-place trophy in July at the New England track and Matt Kenseth crossed the finish line first in September.
