Kevin Harvick claimed the pole for Sunday's Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Harvick led all three rounds of qualifying and set a new track record with a lap of 35.198 seconds or approximately 204.557 mph. The record lap was the fastest ever at a non-restrictor-plate for a Sprint Cup race.

Kevin Harvick led the charge of Chevrolet SS drivers in securing the top-three spots in the final qualifying order for the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway. With a new track record of 204.557 mph, the driver of the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet will lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) field to the green flag for the third time this season.

JOEY LOGANO – No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion – “I feel like that was hard-fought. We barely made the first round and barely made the second round and the third round I thought we had a good lap, but the track just cooled off and everyone else went faster too. From where we started in the first round I didn’t think we were gonna be very good, so we recovered decent and I think we learned some things throughout qualifying. Some of our changes were really good, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing - Starting Position: 10th - How was the qualifying session? “It was a mixed bag. Our first lap in the second round, I hit something in (turns) one and two and the car took off up the race track and damaged our splitter a little bit. That hurt us because then we had to go out again in the second round really late and then all of our stuff was really hot going into the third round."

The Detroit Lions’ first-round draft pick Eric Ebron is the grand marshal and Quicken Loans chief executive officer Bill Emerson will serve as the honorary starter for Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

TY NORRIS, executive vice president of business development and general manager, Michael Waltrip Racing - What is Brett Moffitt’s future with MWR? “Brett (Moffitt) has been doing quite a bit of testing for us in various forms. We’ve seen a lot of progress in him -- he was very successful for us when he drove for us in the K&N Series and even then we always felt that he should be the next driver to get the opportunity to go to the Truck Series, the Nationwide Series, but unfortunately MWR doesn’t own a Nationwide team or a Truck Series team so an opportunity came available to run him in the Cup car at Dover with our relationship with Jay Robinson Racing. Brett was as good as we thought he was going to be and very, very impressive."

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing - How does it feel to be back racing NSCS at Michigan? “It’s good to be back at Michigan -- wow, this media center is nice. I don’t think I’ve been to the new one. "

“As far as Hendrick at this track, I think that they have always been pretty strong here. I remember racing against them before I was at Hendrick, and they were fast. I know Fords have won here a lot for some reason, but I’ve watched Jimmie (Johnson), Jeff (Gordon) and Dale (Earnhardt, Jr.) win twice here.
