Michael Waltrip Racing announced today Billy Scott will serve as Brian Vickers’ crew chief on the No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota in the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

Jimmie Johnson took a giant step toward joining NASCAR’s pantheon of legends. And he did it in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ Gen-6 race car, which made its debut in record-setting fashion.

On Tuesday, NASCAR finally announced its 2014 rules package for the Sprint Cup Series Gen-6 racecar. While these changes may not have been significant or may not have been a step in the right direction in the eyes of many, the efforts of the sanctioning body cannot be denied.

Phoenix Racing formally announced today that Bobby Labonte will drive a second car for the team in the Daytona 500 on February 23, 2014 at Daytona International Speedway. The move reunites Phoenix Racing chairman emeritus, James Finch, with the 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Bobby Labonte. Labonte drove for Phoenix Racing for 13 races in the No. 09 in 2010 and for one race at Michigan International Speedway in 2013 in the No. 51.

Last week, it was announced that Austin Dillon would be bringing the No. 3 back to the Sprint Cup Series.

NASCAR announced today a new multi-year agreement with Flowmaster designating it as the exclusive NASCAR Performance partner for performance exhaust system components, which include performance mufflers, catalytic converters, headers and installation accessories. Flowmaster will complement their category rights with participation in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Contingency Program. Flowmaster will leverage its new designation for exhaust system components and the power of NASCAR’s intellectual property to activate at various retail and wholesale channels nationwide and at-track through aggressive customer hosting.
