Michael Waltrip Racing announced today that Mark Martin and Michael Waltrip’s Toyota Camrys will carry the number 55 during the 2012 and 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series seasons.

THE MODERATOR: Good afternoon. Welcome to today's NASCAR teleconference. Today we are joined by the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, Tony Stewart. With the victory Sunday at Homestead Miami Speedway and an impressive five wins during this year's NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Stewart won at Homestead, his fifth win of the Chase, and took home the 2011 Sprint Cup championship, the third of his career. Stewart and Carl Edwards both scored 2,403 points in the Chase, but Stewart won by virtue of his Chase victories.

After Tony Stewart tied Carl Edwards in points for the Sprint Cup championship, Stewart commented that he had thrown so much at Edwards and he was too nice of a guy to respond.

The 2011 NASCAR season brought about three different champions. Two of the champions just finished their second season and the third champion won his third title. Lets meet our NASCAR champions.

Tony Stewart can add this to the growing list of reasons why his championship season ranks among the greatest ever: He won the title in the most statistically-competitive season in the 63-year history of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates announced today that Chris Heroy has been named crew chief of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet with driver Juan Pablo Montoya. Heroy takes over the role effective immediately in preparation for the 2012 season.
