NASCAR Cup Series

Team Penske and Menards announced today that the industry-leading home improvement store company will sponsor driver Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 Ford Fusion for 14 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) races in 2018. The partnership follows the recent announcement that Blaney will race a third Team Penske entry in the Cup Series beginning next season.  Menards will also be a sponsor on the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing entry, which will be driven by Paul Menard, starting next season.

Mustangs and enthusiasts from all generations mingled at Maple Grove Raceway on August 12th for the 9th annual AmericanMuscle Car Show. AM2017 was swarming with herds of modified Mustangs, die-hard participants, top-notch vendors, entertaining competitions, and even an automotive celebrity or two. Visitors disregarded the forecasted chances of precipitation and, to their delight, the downpour held off until after the show. As always, charity was a strong focus making for an awesome and unique vehicle reveal while raising over $125,000 for Make-A-Wish®.

The iconic No. 21 Ford Fusion race car of Wood Brothers Racing will have a new face behind the wheel in 2018, but for 14 races it will have a very familiar look to race fans as Motorcraft and Quick Lane Tire and Auto Centers return as major sponsors of the team for the 18th season.

Ray Evernham, Ron Hornaday Jr., Ken Squier and Robert Yates, all of whom will be inducted into the 2018 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, will serve as grand marshals for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Though he’s raced at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway just once, 5-hour ENERGY Extra Strength Toyota driver Erik Jones understands the honor and historical significance to his career in competing in his first Bojangles’ Southern 500.

Trevor Bayne will make his third Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Darlington this weekend. Bayne suffered a mechanical failure just shy of the halfway mark in this event last season, ultimately leading to a 40th-place finish.

After a week off, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is back in action this weekend at Darlington Raceway for the annual Bojangles’ Southern 500.  This year’s Throwback Weekend highlights the late 1980’s (1985-89), which includes Bill Elliott winning the Winston Million in its first year of existence in his No. 9 Ford Thunderbird (1985).  Here’s a look at some other key Ford moments at Darlington.
