NASCAR Cup Series

The iconic No. 21 Ford Fusion race car of Wood Brothers Racing will have a new face behind the wheel in 2018, but for 14 races it will have a very familiar look to race fans as Motorcraft and Quick Lane Tire and Auto Centers return as major sponsors of the team for the 18th season.

Ray Evernham, Ron Hornaday Jr., Ken Squier and Robert Yates, all of whom will be inducted into the 2018 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, will serve as grand marshals for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Though he’s raced at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway just once, 5-hour ENERGY Extra Strength Toyota driver Erik Jones understands the honor and historical significance to his career in competing in his first Bojangles’ Southern 500.

Trevor Bayne will make his third Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Darlington this weekend. Bayne suffered a mechanical failure just shy of the halfway mark in this event last season, ultimately leading to a 40th-place finish.

After a week off, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is back in action this weekend at Darlington Raceway for the annual Bojangles’ Southern 500.  This year’s Throwback Weekend highlights the late 1980’s (1985-89), which includes Bill Elliott winning the Winston Million in its first year of existence in his No. 9 Ford Thunderbird (1985).  Here’s a look at some other key Ford moments at Darlington.

Stenhouse Jr. has four Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Darlington Raceway with an average starting position of 18.0 and average finishing position of 23.5.

The Bank of America 500 on Sunday, Oct. 8, brings race teams back for NASCAR’s homecoming at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but the iconic fall classic will also bring fans to their feet when breakthrough singer/songwriter Carly Pearce performs the national anthem.
