Trevor Bayne’s No. 6 AdvoCare Ford will sport a familiar scheme when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) returns to Darlington Raceway for the famed Southern 500. As part of NASCAR’s official throwback weekend, Bayne’s Ford will harken back to the first paint scheme run during Roush Fenway Racing’s first two seasons with NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin. The scheme earned one victory, the organization’s first in NASCAR, in the MENCS event at North Carolina Motor Speedway (Rockingham) on Oct. 22, 1989.

On a day celebrating the sport’s iconic past, NASCAR® fans attending the Bojangles’ Southern 500 can share their race-day experiences from Darlington Raceway with millions of Snapchatters through a premium ‘Our Story’ on Snapchat covering The Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, NASCAR announced today. The Our Story, an expertly-curated stream of video and photo Snaps, will provide a unique, behind-the-scenes look at The Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR from the perspective of fans and drivers during race day in Darlington, South Carolina on Sept. 3.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers and Coca-Cola Racing family members Joey Logano, Austin Dillon and Ryan Newman, along with defending Bojangles’ Southern 500 champion Martin Truex Jr. are all scheduled to make appearances in the Darlington Stripe Zone Fan Hospitality.

The unique paint scheme of the No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota that 2017 NASCAR Rookie of the Year candidate Erik Jones will drive in the Sept. 3 Bojangles’ Southern 500 will honor the great rookie classes of the celebrated throwback era.  The paint scheme is a photographic Who’s Who of the NASCAR Cup Series rookie drivers from 1984 to 1989, featuring Cup Series Champions, Daytona 500 winners and a couple of Hall of Famers.

SunnyD has announced a contract extension with Roush Fenway that will see the iconic brand extend its relationship with the team and driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. through the 2019 season, with additional races added each season. SunnyD has served as a primary partner on Stenhouse’s No. 17 Ford Fusion for multiple races over the past two seasons.

Bristol is where the legends win. Darrell Waltrip won a dozen times there. Cale Yarborough, Dale Earnhardt, and Rusty Wallace each had nine. Then there is Kyle Busch, who’s victory on Saturday night pushed him to six, one more than his brother Kurt and David Pearson. Each one in the Hall of Fame, or will be. No exceptions.

Kyle Busch: Busch won the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on Saturday night to complete the Bristol sweep after winning the Camping World Trucks race on Wednesday and Xfinity Series race on Friday.

Riki Rachtman, the longtime host of MTV’s hit show Headbangers Ball and current host of the Racing Rocks! Radio Show, will serve as an honorary emcee for Darlington Raceway’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 weekend on Sept. 1-3.

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Erik Jones put on a career-best performance, leading over half the race, but it wasn't enough to beat Kyle Busch in the waning laps of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

After a punctured tire sent the Fastenal Ford into the outside wall on lap 200, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. overcame adversity to earn a 14th-place finish in Saturday night’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
