Martin Truex Jr. topped the chart in first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Sonoma Raceway.

"I'm looking forward to the weekend. I really enjoy road course racing. I always have. So obviously it's been a good season, like you said, a lot of stage wins, and I think it's been going well for us. Just hoping to come in here and continue that and maybe get our first road course win as a group and my second as a driver. It would be awesome."

You become the first Israeli driver ever to compete in NASCAR’s top series, talk a little bit about that and what your plans are this weekend. "Um, yeah, it's really exciting being here. It's kind of a dream come true since I was a kid, driving ‑‑ nine, ten years old, driving the NASCAR game, video game, and suddenly I'm here doing the real thing. It's definitely, definitely a dream come true. Yeah, I'm super excited. It's kind of history, not only for me, it's history for Israel, for everybody, and I'm pretty sure that in Israel people are really excited and rooting for me, and yeah, I'm just excited, and I can't wait to go to drive the car."

Clint Bowyer, driver of the No. 14 Cars 3 Ford Fusion, met with media members Friday prior to opening Monster Energy Cup Series practice in his Lightning McQueen paint scheme. Bowyer spoke about looking for continued success on the track and his season to date.

O’Connell Racing, a Southern California based motorsports team announced today that American road racing driver Kevin O’Connell with drive the No. 15 Premium Motorsports entry in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday June 25th.
