Recap: Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team scored a 16th-place finish in Sunday’s FireKeepers 400 at the driver’s home track of Michigan International Speedway (MIS). After starting the race from the 12th position, Keselowski raced his way into the top 10 before the NASCAR-mandated competition caution at lap 25. Crew chief Paul Wolfe brought his driver down pit road under the yellow for four tires and adjustments to help with the handling on the Ford that was loose into turn three and tight from the center through corner exit.

It’s been a struggle the last month-and-a-half and it’s nice to come here to Michigan, maybe our best race track and be able to overcome a lot. I’m not sure we had a third-place car today but the team executed like they needed to get the Shell-Pennzoil Ford into the top-three."

Though Martin Truex Jr. finished sixth in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway the final result wasn’t met with contentment with the Furniture Row Racing driver, who won the first two stages and had the dominant car until late-race inside lane restarts spoiled his chance of a victory.

After having to start at the tail of the field due to pit-road speeding penalty, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. picked up 22 positions in the final 46 laps to score his first top-10 finish in nine Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Michigan International Speedway. In 15 MENCS starts this season, Stenhouse has scored six top-10 finishes.

Kyle Larson made the perfect restart when it mattered the most to win the FireKeepers Casino 400. It marked his second consecutive victory at Michigan International Speedway.

While he dominated the day and led the most laps, despite failing to win a single stage, Kyle Larson took the lead on a late restart in the closing laps of the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway and held off challengers to score the victory.

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 42 Cars 3 Target Chevrolet SS, captured his second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series (MENCS) victory of the season by winning the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). It was Larson’s third MENCS career victory in 127 races, his second win and fourth top-10 finish in eight races at the 2-mile track. He led 96 of the 200-lap/400-mile contest and regained the lead in the current point standings.

Ryan Blaney and the Omnicraft Ford struggled with handling early in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway but battled back using two-tire pit strategy to be in a position to contend for the win but a late-race brush with the wall sent last week’s race winner back to a 25th-place finish.
