Ford comes into this weekend’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway having won a series-best three times after Brad Keselowski took the checkered flag Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.

Back in 1949, Martinsville was a dirt track. Fifteen cars started the 100 lap event in the opening year of what was to become the Cup series. Red Byron won it in a 1949 Oldsmobile. A brand new car. In those days, there was little modifications done in the strictly stock division.

Brad Keselowski won the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) STP 500 on Sunday at Martinsville Speedway. This was Keselowski’s first win at the speedway, his second of the 2017 season and the 23rd of his career.

Sunday's STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway delivered the excitement that we've been waiting to see. Brad Keselowski was able to deliver that excitement and earned his 23rd Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) career win and his second win of the season.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Short track racing is known for being chocked full of race cars with sheet metal beaten senseless by the battles on track, and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway was no exception.

First, the good news for Martin Truex Jr. He won the first stage of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. He picked up an additional 10 standing points and one playoff point. He now leads the Cup series with four stage wins and ranks second with nine playoff points, which carry through the first three rounds of the post season.
