Even though the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion has been fast at each of the four tracks on which it has raced so far this season, the results have been up and down. The Wood Brothers Racing Team is looking to rebound from a down week in Phoenix when it travels to Fontana for the Auto Club 400 this weekend.

In 83 overall Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Auto Club Speedway, RCR Chevrolet teams have earned one win (Kevin Harvick - 2011), one pole award (Mike Skinner - April 2000), 12 top-five and 28 top-10 finishes. RCR has a 19.9 average starting position and a 16.4 average finishing position at the moderately-banked D-shaped race track.

Fond of Fontana: "I always enjoy Fontana," Allmendinger said. "Auto Club Speedway has been a great racetrack for us. I always look forward to going back there because it’s slick, it’s a tough race track. Although it is in southern California, I’m a northern California native, you can’t get those two mixed up. It’s a place that I really enjoy going to.”

1. Kyle Larson: Larson took the runner-up spot at Phoenix, finishing second for the third consecutive time this season.

Ryan Newman ended his winless drought at Phoenix International Raceway. Newman stayed out while most of the front runners pitted for two tires after Joey Logano blew a right front tire that brought out the final caution flag of the day with six laps remaining. Newman held off Kyle Larson on the two-lap overtime restart to win his first race since 2013 on Sunday in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Camping World 500.

Bayne will make his fourth career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Auto Club Speedway this weekend.
