NASCAR, stop fooling yourself into thinking stock cars at Indianapolis can work.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series western swing comes to an end this Sunday at Auto Club Speedway for the Auto Club 400. Five Ford drivers are currently in the Top 10 of the series point standings – Brad Keselowski (2nd), Joey Logano (5th), Ryan Blaney (6th), Kevin Harvick (7th) and Kurt Busch (9th). As the speedway celebrates its 20th anniversary, here’s a look back at some of Ford’s track highlights.

NASCAR announced today a multi-year partnership with Hotels for Hope designating the company as the “Official Hotel Booking Partner of NASCAR®.” Hotels for Hope, a hotel inventory brokerage with a philanthropic business model, services large scale consumer events across the country and will now include NASCAR race weekends.

You had better luck finding Nemo than Ryan Newman in Victory Lane in recent years. He was there for the first time since July 28, 2013 in Indianapolis. That was surprising enough.

NASCAR will be utilizing restrictor plates at Indianapolis for the XFINITY race on July 22. This comes after a test last year with the plates, where NASCAR was reportedly pleased with the results.

Kyle Larson finished second place at Phoenix Raceway but emerged as the new points leader, proving that consistency is key in the Chase for the Championship.

Since joining RCR in 2014, Newman has made the playoffs a couple of times (2014, '15), with his '14 effort culminating in a narrow championship miss, finishing second to Kevin Harvick in the standings.

Drivers Ryan Newman, Kyle Larson, and Rickey Stenhouse Jr. stayed out on old tires during the final caution flag at Phoenix International Raceway. Newman's crew chief Luke Lambert rolled the dice giving Newman the lead when the field went back green with two laps to go.

Michael McDowell and Leavine Family Racing (LFR) outlasted the Arizona heat during the Camping World 500 to earn their third Top-25 finish of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) season.
