NASCAR Cup Series

Michael McDowell and Leavine Family Racing (LFR) will join the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) as they head west for the first race of the West Coast swing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

This weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kasey Kahne will pilot the silver and burgundy No. 5 LiftMaster Chevrolet SS. This weekend marks LiftMaster’s first of three races as the primary partner on the No. 5 car this season. It will also adorn the car later this year at Charlotte Motor Speedway (May) and Michigan International Speedway (August).

Stenhouse has four-career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Las Vegas with an average starting position of 15.0 and average finishing position of 21.5. In 2012, Stenhouse Jr. cleared veteran Mark Martin with 54 laps remaining and built a six-second lead going on to claim his first victory of the 2012 NASCAR XFINITY season and his third XFINITY career win.

Trevor Bayne will make his seventh career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. In six previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish, a ninth-place result in 2012.

1. Kevin Harvick: Harvick started from the pole at Atlanta and won the first two segments, but a late pit road speeding penalty cost him the victory.

Atlanta Motor Speedway was the No. 43 Smithfield team's first on-track test of their intermediate track program after the team worked on improvements in the off-season. Unfortunately, the car didn't handle as well as the team hoped. They worked throughout the weekend, and Almirola said they scratched the service of improvement near the end of the race. The team will take those notes to Vegas and work on improving the car for Sunday's race.

Though early forecasts show Chamber of Commerce weather for this weekend’s Kobalt 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Martin Truex Jr. still has concerns about how the wind factor will affect the handling of his No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Toyota Camry.
