Alan Gustafson, crew chief for Chase Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 24 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet, today became the first two-time winner of the prestigious MOOG® “Problem Solver of the Year” Award, which recognizes the best overall performance by a crew chief in the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series. Gustafson, who first won the award in 2011, received a handcrafted MOOG ball joint trophy and a check for $100,000 during today’s NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas. MOOG, the Official Steering and Suspension of NASCAR, is a brand of Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ:FDML).

NASCAR and Monster Energy announced today a multi-year agreement for the premier series entitlement as well as the prestigious annual NASCAR All-Star Race.

Roush Fenway Racing founder Jack Roush was named the 2016 recipient of the esteemed Buddy Shuman Award at the annual NMPA Myers Bothers Awards Luncheon as part of Championship Week in Las Vegas.

Roush Fenway Racing has announced a partnership with Liberty National Life Insurance Company, that will see the leading health and life insurance company serve as a primary team partner on Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne’s No. 6 Ford Fusion. Liberty National will also serve as a major associate partner for multiple races during the 2017 season. The No. 6 Liberty National Ford Fusion will make its debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March.

Sammy Johns has joined Richard Childress Racing (RCR) as the new operations director for the Welcome, North Carolina, racing organization. Johns will report directly to Dr. Eric Warren, director of competition for RCR.

Roush Fenway Racing has announced its 2017 plans for the NASCAR Cup Series that will see the organization field a two-car Cup operation next season, with drivers Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. piloting the No. 6 and No. 17 Ford Fusions, respectively, in NASCAR’s highest series. In addition, Kevin Kidd and Tommy Wheeler will lead Roush Fenway’s overall competition efforts going forward. Kidd will assume the role of Competition Director, and Wheeler will serve as the team’s Operations Director.

Grammy-nominated actor, comedian and radio personality Jay Mohr will join NASCAR fans across the nation in honoring the newly crowned NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, Jimmie Johnson, as the host of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards at Wynn Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 2. In addition to Sting’s previously announced headline performance, the show will feature award-winning musical artists American Authors, Skylar Grey and Olivia Holt.

Beginning in 2017, Ty Dillon will take over full-time driving duties of the No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Germain Racing.
