NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Michael McDowell has had his fair share of challenges throughout his racing career but draws inspiration while overcoming them and finding his path to success. The driver of the No. 95 Thrivent Financial Chevrolet SS has overcome difficult situations, such as having to race his way into the majority of his races as he moved up through the ranks of NASCAR.

Effective immediately, Steve Phelps will assume the role as NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Global Sales and Marketing Officer. The business areas that Phelps will oversee include Global Marketing, Partnership and Series Marketing, Business Development, Integrated Marketing Communications, Licensing & Consumer Products, and NASCAR Digital Media. He will continue to serve as NASCAR’s top Officer in the Charlotte office.

Tony Stewart – 2016 Watkins Glen Race Advance

Sunday marks Stewart’s final NASCAR appearance at Watkins Glen and final road-course race of his Sprint Cup career. He will go down in history as one of the sport’s greatest on road courses. Even though Watkins Glen and Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway are the only two road-course tracks during the 36-race regular season, Stewart has earned eight wins in 33 career Sprint Cup road-course races.

The Bakersfield, California native is no stranger to victory lane at Watkins Glen. He scored a Sprint Cup victory there in 2006, when he started seventh and led 28 of 90 laps and beat current SHR teammate Tony Stewart to the finish line by 0.892 of a second.
