Michigan (Consumers Energy 400) Preview: The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads back to the Irish Hills of Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 11, for a 400-mile event at Michigan International Speedway. Hamlin and team earned an 11th-place finish earlier this season at the two-mile oval and will be seeking the team’s fourth win of the 2019 Cup Series.

Visiting Darlington Raceway today to support the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace, Victory Junction and Richard Petty Motorsports unveiled the No. 43 Chevy that Wallace will drive in the race on September 1.

Milestone Martin… Martin Truex Jr. makes his 500th career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). Since rejoining the Toyota family in 2016, Truex has 20 wins, 56 top-fives and 78 top-10 finishes. Truex scored Toyota its second-ever Cup Series driver’s championship in 2017.

Seventy-four of the original class of 78 Ford and Lincoln Senior Master Technicians in the U.S. will attend the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) as special guests of Ford and Wood Brothers Racing.

All three of NASCAR’s top series will be on track this weekend as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series serves as the Sunday finale at Michigan International Speedway. That will follow the final regular-season race for the Gander Outdoors Truck Series, scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Toyota driver Martin Truex Jr. (second) was the highest-finishing Camry driver in Sunday afternoon’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Watkins Glen International.

Returning to Watkins Glen International after capturing his first-career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) win in 2018, Chase Elliott will lead the field to the green in Sunday’s GoBowling at the Glen. Chase Elliott’s No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Camaro ZL1 secured the top position in qualifying with a fast lap of 69.287, 127.297 mph. It was the 15th pole for Chevrolet in history at the 3.4-mile road course.
