COLE CUSTER, No. 00 Jacob Companies Ford Mustang -- HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS WEEKEND? “This has never been my best track. If I can figure it out this time that would be great. It is obviously Ford’s backyard so that would be huge for our team to get a win. It is all about on-throttle time and having good exits and keeping your momentum up. In traffic it is really sketch because it is so high-speed and everything. It is really tough to get a handle on the track for sure.”

Richard Childress Racing at Michigan International Speedway ... In 171 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Michigan International Speedway, RCR teams have earned three wins, two with Dale Earnhardt (1987, 1990) and one with Kevin Harvick (August 2010). Additionally, RCR has claimed 25 top-five and 58 top-10 finishes with 10 different drivers including Richard Childress, a former driver in NASCAR's top division, who recorded top-10 finishes at MIS in June 1978 and August 1979.

Chevrolet has 26 victories in the 99 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races at the 2-mile Michigan International Speedway, which opened in October 1968. GM brands Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac have combined for an additional 10 wins.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway this weekend, which is a “home track” of sorts for Matt Tifft. Overall RFR Fords have 23 wins at MIS with 91 top-five and 150 top-10 finishes.
