Recap: Ryan Blaney won the 32nd Annual Use Your Melon. Drive Sober 200 at Dover International Speedway capturing his sixth career victory in his 60th NASCAR XFINITY Series start. Blaney qualified the No.22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford in the eighth position and quickly powered his way into the top-five in the opening laps.

Ryan Reed had his hands full Saturday afternoon at Dover International Raceway, but despite handling issues Reed was able to secure a 16th-place finish. Reed currently sits eighth in the Playoff point standings with one more race remaining before the field is cut from 12 competitors to eight.

Many in the NASCAR community agree with the comments made by Trump, Childress, and Petty, that whoever refuses to stand for the anthem should be fired. It has made a volatile situation, first started in the NFL, worse. Many others in the NASCAR community also believe that these comments did more harm than good for the sport's image, an image it has tried to shed and has only marginally succeeded.

We were a little bit off on the first run. We made some great changes after the first Stage to get it better to where it needs to be. We actually got it better for the last run. I think this team does a great job with that of maybe not firing off the greatest but they know how to work on it and make it better throughout the race. As a driver that all you can ask for, great changes throughout. It’s awesome to get to victory lane with Fitzgerald. This is really cool. We were close the first race this year and just didn’t quite get it. Definitely learned a lot for tomorrow.”

Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that through their technical partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, Alex Bowman, 24, will pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Oct. 7) and Phoenix International Raceway (Nov. 11). Hendrick Automotive Group’s HendrickCars.com, which features more than 43,000 new and pre-owned cars for sale, will serve as the primary sponsor in Charlotte with additional support from Vannoy Construction. A sponsor for Phoenix will be announced at a later date.

For Fairhope, Alabama native Grant Enfinger, his victory in last year’s fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Talladega Superspeedway was fulfillment of a childhood dream. Now, for the driver who grew up being the track’s biggest fan, he aims to add to his legacy when he and the rest of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) return to Talladega for this year’s version of fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola on Saturday, Oct. 14.

"Dover is a track like no other. When they say it's a monster, it seriously is. Last time we were there in June we had some electrical issues that caused us to get multiple laps down. Hopefully we have some better luck this weekend and finish out the last couple of races on a high note."

This weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover International Speedway marks Ryan Reed’s eighth start at the Monster Mile. In his seven previous starts, Reed has one top-five and two top-10 finishes. His best finish of fifth came in the spring race.
