There aren't many tracks as dynamic as Richmond International Raceway. The .75-mile oval has everything a race fan wants. Whether it's short-track bumping and banging, or high-speed, side-by-side racing, Richmond has it all. It's no wonder that fans and drivers alike look forward to racing at the .75-mile oval.

After a week off from Nationwide Series competition, Blake Koch is ready to go racing. He's pumped to get behind the wheel of his No. 24 Toyota and test his skills at Richmond International Raceway. Known as the "Action Track," the .75-mile oval has characteristics of a short track and a superspeedway. Koch loves the combination and looks forward to seeing the sparks fly in Friday night's ToyotaCare 250.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) returns to action this weekend at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) after a one week break. The 250-lap race will be the second consecutive night race of the season for the series. With just seven races into the 2013 season, it is the third time that the NNS teams will visit a track that is less than a mile in distance.

Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) development driver, Ryan Reed will make his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series start this weekend. Due to running a partial schedule, the No. 16 Ford Mustang must qualify for the race based on time.

For the first time this season, Travis Pastrana heads to a track that he has competed at before in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Pastrana made two starts at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) last year, including his first overall NNS start last April and his first start for Roush Fenway Racing (RFR), last September. Pastrana finished 25th and 17th in those races, respectively.

Nelson Piquet Jr. will be making his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Richmond International Raceway on Friday night, having only previously raced at the 0.75-mile short track in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race last fall where he finished 17th.

NASCAR announced today that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will implement the group-based road course qualifying procedure used in NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Touring Series competition during its road-course events at Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International. Under the new procedure, cars will qualify in groups instead of the traditional single-car qualifying runs held on oval race tracks.

Dover International Speedway and FedEx are teaming up to offer fans the chance to bid on a one-of-a-kind race day experience package that includes the opportunity to be on stage during pre-race activities, including driver introductions, for the June 2, 2013 “FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Monster Mile. The winner will also be on stage with representatives from FedEx to present a sizable donation check to Autism Speaks.

Richmond International Raceway and IMG Seating are teaming up to offer padded seat rentals for the April 26-27 NASCAR weekend at RIR. Seat rentals are $8 per event and available for both the Saturday, April 27, Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and the Friday, April 26, ToyotaCare 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.
