Cole Custer, driver of the No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang, is the defending champion of the Ford EcoBoost 300. If he’s able to repeat that victory on Saturday, he’ll also be crowned NASCAR XFINITY Series champion. Custer spoke about his championship hopes during Media Day Thursday in Miami.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series will all be winding up at Homestead-Miami with the Championship 4 races in each series. Check out the full schedule for Ford Championship weekend below, which is subject to change.

Below is an in-depth look at the four drivers that have qualified for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 and will race for the title at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the Ford EcoBoost 300 on Saturday, Nov. 17 (at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90).

Ford Championship Weekend is in full swing, and to celebrate the XFINITY Series championship race, Homestead-Miami Speedway announced Scooter Gennett, All-Star second baseman for the Cincinnati Reds, will serve as the Honorary Starter for the Ford EcoBoost 300, which will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 2:30 p.m. on NBCSN. As honorary starter, Gennett will wave the green flag at the start of the 200-lap race.

Richard Childress Racing's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series history at Homestead-Miami Speedway ... Homestead-Miami Speedway is one of the few race tracks where team owner Richard Childress has yet to earn a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory. Richard Childress Racing entries have finished second on four occasions: 2003 (Kevin Harvick), 2008 (Harvick), 2009 (Jeff Burton) and 2014 (Ryan Newman). In 60 starts, RCR has earned nine top-five and 24 top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile, progressively-banked oval with drivers Dave Blaney, Clint Bowyer, Burton, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Green, Harvick, Newman, Paul Menard and Mike Skinner. Kentucky Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway are the other tracks on the current Cup Series schedule where RCR is still on the hunt for hardware.

News and notes: The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head south to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the season finale. Four drivers will battle for the title and a champion will be crowned. It has been a year of positive growth for Spencer Boyd in his rookie campaign with SS Greenlight Racing. When the checkered flag falls this weekend, Boyd will have officially completed his first full time year in NASCAR. "I'm excited to wrap up my rookie year at Homestead," says Boyd. "One thing everybody loves about Homestead is the multiple grooves you can run and getting up next to those blue walls. It's been a dream come true this year and I'm ready to finish out this 2018 season on a high note."

Briscoe on Homestead “I’m excited to get to Homestead as it’s one of my favorite tracks and it’s special because it’s where I got my first NASCAR win. It’s Ford championship weekend so hopefully we can have a good run to end the year for everyone on the Nutri Chomps 60.”

Ryan Reed will make his sixth NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. In his five previous starts, Reed’s best finish of 13th came in 2013. Reed has an average starting position of 15th and an average finish of 18.6 at the 1.5-mile track.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season ends with Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 in which Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick will by trying to deliver the first drivers’ title for the manufacturer since Kurt Busch won it all in 2004.
