Self on Racing at Talladega: “I’m really looking forward to going to Talladega this weekend. I really enjoy the fundamentals of restrictor plate racing and I’ve had relatively good success there and hope to build on that on Saturday.

Christopher Bell has long been known as a rising star in NASCAR. The talent on the track is obvious. But there’s been one goal that Bell has had all along that maybe even some of his most diehard race fans didn’t know about.

Rookie Christopher Bell captured another NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) victory on Saturday in the Bar Harbor 200 at Dover International Speedway in the elimination Playoffs race.  Bell also became the winningest rookie in series history with six victories.

Chase Briscoe was battling inside the top-20 when two cars made contact underneath him causing him to hit the outside wall forcing him to settle with a 19th-place finish in his Ford Performance Mustang at Dover International Speedway.

We had a top-five car and did just about that with it. We gave up in a few spots knowing the points situation and having a really solid day, so I think that’s one of the first races I can say that went smooth. We executed everything and thanks to Discount Tire, MoneyLion and everyone who supports this car. I get to breathe for a week. I actually get to go play with some Mustangs next weekend, so it will be fun to get my mind off of it and then it’s back to scrounging and clawing and grabbing to try and get a final four spot, which will probably end up meaning trying to win a race, but it’s nothing we can’t do.”

Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang, is battling for a spot in the Round of 8 this weekend at Dover. He was part of a press conference this morning to talk about what it’s going to take to advance.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series will be in action at Dover International Speedway while the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is off. The Monster Energy Series heads to the first race of the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Playoffs, while the Xfinity Series Playoffs enters the final race of the Round of 12.

Richard Childress Racing at Dover International Speedway ... RCR has earned four Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series wins at Dover International Speedway, most recently in September 2006 when Jeff Burton drove the No. 31 Chevrolet to Victory Lane. Three additional victories came with Dale Earnhardt behind the wheel, including both events at the Monster Mile in 1989 as well as the spring race in 1993. RCR has also earned one pole award, 24 top-five and 56 top-10 finishes in 169 combined starts at the high-banked, one-mile oval. Childress, a former driver in NASCAR's top division, contributed three of those top 10s from 1976-1980.

Gallagher and the No. 23 team will utilize chassis no. 222. This chassis has been raced four times this season at Auto Club Speedway by Spencer Gallagher (start: 15th/finish: 11th), Dover International Speedway by Johnny Sauter (start: 11th, finish: 6th), Kentucky Speedway by Gallagher (start: 15th/ finish: 20th) and at Darlington Raceway by Chase Elliott (start: 38th/finish: 6th).
