For the first time in more than a decade, Corvette Racing will compete in its hometown when the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returns to Detroit and the Belle Isle street circuit this weekend for the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic.

Steven Aghakhani and Jacob Eidson moved their 2021 IMSA Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America championship bid off to a fast start Saturday at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) with a third-place overall and Pro-class finish in the opening 50-minute race of the season in the No. 6 SADA Systems US RaceTronics (USRT) Lamborghini Huracán.

Under nearly perfect weather conditions at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, the Idemitsu Lubricants America-sponsored No. 55 Mazda Motorsports Mazda RT24-P DPi, driven by Harry Tincknell and Oliver Jarvis, qualified on pole and led the first half of the 122-lap race, before finishing third at the IMSA Acura Sports Car Challenge sprint race Sunday.

The first Mercedes-AMG GT4 podium finish of the IMSA Pilot Challenge season was secured by Bryce Ward and Alec Udell in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 to highlight a competitive run of three Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing teams in the top-10 of Saturday’s Mid-Ohio 120.

After having last raced in the category at Sebring in March, Jr III Racing returns to IMSA Prototype Challenge (IPC) competition at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend with a new driver line up for the No. 3 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320.

Team Hardpoint EBM’s No. 88 Richard Mille/Champion Porsche 911 GT3 R just missed out on the podium in Saturday’s 69th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and the No. 99 GridRival Porsche 911 GT3 R team car persevered to add a second top-10 finish in the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) season.
