As NASCAR returns to the racetrack for the first time in more than two months, the sport will honor frontline healthcare workers in The Real Heroes 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, May 17 at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

As NASCAR continues plans to return to racing later this month, Coca-Cola Racing Family driver Bubba Wallace spent Wednesday afternoon visiting with airmen from Shaw Air Force Base as part of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s virtual Mission 600.

Coca-Cola Racing Family driver Austin Dillon recently spent nearly an hour visiting with Special Operations Command Marines for Camp Lejeune as part of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Mission 600 campaign to honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces as a prelude to the 61st running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend.

The 61st running of the legendary Coca-Cola 600 will take place on Sunday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. during Memorial Day Weekend as NASCAR brings live competition back to a worldwide broadcast audience on FOX and PRN.

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series seasons, delayed since mid-March, will resume next month at Darlington Raceway.

The following is a statement from Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith on North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s comments about the possibility of the Coca-Cola 600 returning to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend:

Despite the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, Charlotte Motor Speedway is moving forward with plans to honor and recognize the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces through its third annual Mission 600 campaign.

A host of drivers who have tasted sweet victory at Talladega Superspeedway, including six-time winners Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon, will be a part of the field in Sunday’s GEICO 70 eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series virtual race.
