Since 2010, the spring Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races at Talladega Superspeedway, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, have shown what the world’s largest and greatest track is all about – 200 mph speeds, three- and four-wide, 10 rows deep competition and absolute nail-biting, close finishes by a matter of feet, sometimes even inches.

Horns were honking and the RVs were rolling through the new Turn 3 Oversized Vehicle Tunnel at Talladega Superspeedway Wednesday as NASCAR drivers Jeffrey Earnhardt and Chase Briscoe assisted in the ribbon cutting ceremony as part of the “official” Grand Opening for thousands of fans to enter the track’s iconic infield.

For fans who will be attending this weekend’s (April 26-28) motorsports tripleheader at Talladega Superspeedway, featuring the GEICO 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, a must pit stop is the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, located adjacent to NASCAR’s Most Competitive track.

It’s race week at Talladega Superspeedway, and the excitement is brewing for an incredible motorsports tripleheader – featuring the GEICO 500 for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the MoneyLion 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series event and the ARCA Menards Series’ General Tire 200.

In the 2000s at Talladega Superspeedway’s springtime classic Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, there was a new sheriff in town named Gordon, as well as another driver with the last name of Earnhardt, who dominated the world’s largest and greatest race track in the world that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Talladega Superspeedway’s Freedom Trophy has been a staple at the historic venue, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, since 2014. The patriotic trophy will be presented to the winner of the April 28 GEICO 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race by a warrior of the Wounded Warrior Project – U.S. Army, Staff Sergeant Donald Jones.

Race fans looking for a glimpse into the future need look no further than this year’s Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race. As demonstrated throughout its illustrious history, NASCAR’s annual all-star spectacular will again provide the platform for the world’s greatest stock car drivers to compete for $1 million dollars, while race teams will get a real-world experience with technical components that could be implemented in the next generation car.

Grant Lynch, the leader of Talladega Superspeedway for more than half the track’s existence, has been a delight for years during pre-race ceremonies with his back-and-forth chatter with the fans via microphone on the public address system with that chant “This is More than a Race…..This is Talladega.”

Darlington Raceway announced today Hartsville, S.C. native Haylee Johnson has been selected as the Lady in Black for 2019.

Lenexa, Kan. based Digital Ally Inc. is partnering with Kansas Speedway to sponsor the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race (Digital Ally 400 at 6:30 PM CT) and NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race (Digital Ally 250 at 7:30 PM CT) May 10-11.
