Sunday’s GEICO 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway will be an emotional one for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his loyal race fans.

New Era Cap has agreed to a multiyear deal to become the ‘Official Victory Lane Cap’ of the historic circuit. The Buffalo-based brand will also occupy displays at and be available for purchase at WGI retail locations both at the track and in downtown Watkins Glen, New York.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stars Martin Truex Jr. and Matt Kenseth took off their racing suits and put on their softball jerseys on Wednesday, May 3 during the annual Dover vs. Pocono Rivalry Day event in Allentown, Pa.

Alabama native Clayne Crawford, who portrays Detective Martin Riggs on the FOX hit show “LETHAL WEAPON,” will be the Honorary Pace Car driver for Sunday’s (May 7) GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

When the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) hits Talladega Superspeedway for the Sparks Energy 300 this Saturday afternoon, it will mark the 25th anniversary of the series’ first race at the 2.66-mile venue that is not only NASCAR’s Baddest and Baddest venue, but also the most competitive track on the circuit.

Single-day tickets to NASCAR’s season finale Ford Championship Weekend will go on sale to the general public this Friday, May 5. The three-day championship tradition at Homestead-Miami Speedway features a weekend full of scintillating racing by the world’s greatest stock car drivers. In addition to crowning champions in each of NASCAR’s three national series, all eyes will be on Homestead-Miami Speedway for another reason that weekend, as it will serve as the setting for the final laps of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Monster Energy Series career. With the classic spring race weekend just days away, Talladega Superspeedway announced its lineup of pre-race dignitaries for all three events during the triple-header weekend. Six honorary officials will take part in the pre-race festivities prior to the GEICO 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Sparks Energy 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series, and General Tire 200 ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. Talladega Superspeedway’s upcoming NASCAR weekend, May 5-7, will mark a host of key anniversaries at the 2.66-mile mammoth venue. Perhaps the most memorable that are forever etched in Talladega lore are the first days of May 1987 when icons Bill Elliott and Hueytown, Alabama’s own Davey Allison both wrote their names into Talladega Superspeedway's – and NASCAR’s - record books.
